A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are both partial and complete types of dentures. Partial dentures are used when the patient has some remaining, healthy teeth available to help retain the “partial.” Complete dentures are used when the patient has no remaining teeth, or when the patient’s existing teeth are not salvageable. With both partials and complete dentures, they may require adjustments after delivery in order to create a proper fit with the gums and mouth.
