A dental veneer is a thin shield of porcelain that is used to cover the front surface of the tooth. They are designed as a permanent way, but conservative way to change or enhance the look of stained, chipped, broken, or undesired teeth. The advantage of porcelain veneers versus crowns is that much less tooth material is removed, and the procedure is generally less uncomfortable.
